Upcoming Workshops & Events

Writing with ease goes hand-in-hand with "being at ease;" it is a practice. "Being at ease" is the realm in which we meet our true creativity and discover our own wisdom. The practice of writing Authentic Poetry is a gentle reminder for "being," so that creating can happen with ease.

In Authentic Poetry writing workshops, you learn how to:
- Use the breath to quiet the mind (as much as possible)
- Create more space in your body with guided meditations
- Access the infinite silence and stillness within and without
- Listen to the small wise voice within
- Remain at ease during the writing and sharing of poetry

Jerrice Baptiste is a poet, and the founder and facilitator of Authentic Poetry Healing Circles in the Hudson Valley. For several seasons, she has shared the gentle and supportive practice of Authentic Poetry writing with many cancer survivors in the Reuner Cancer Support House at Benedictine Hospital. A healing exchange of poetry happens with ease for each participant.

All writers are welcome; previous writing experience is not necessary. Poetry from other published poets & writers will serve as inspiration for your own. Please bring a notebook to the workshops.

Authentic Poetry workshops will take place in the Reuner Cancer Support House from 5:30-7:30 PM on four consecutive Tuesdays: Oct. 25, Nov. 01, Nov. 08, and Nov. 15.

Workshops are open to cancer survivors, their families, and caregivers. To register, please call (845) 339-2071 ext. 100, or e-mail Doris Blaha.

I look forward to writing Authentic Poetry with you. Thank you!

Joy and Love,
- Jerrice
